Raising Her Voice: A Collective Portrait of Motherhood by Ella Starling

This exhibition presents stories of contemporary motherhood told through portraiture, challenging the limiting cultural narratives that often oversimplify and marginalise mothers in visual culture. Created with mothers from across Pembrokeshire, the exhibition features co-created portraits, a collective artwork and supporting pieces shaped by shared storytelling, lived experiences and Mothers’ Circles. Blending art, community and wellbeing, it gives voice to matrescence - the profound physical, emotional and psychological transition of becoming a mother.

Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre museum re-opens on 30th March with a day of FREE entry and family fun!

The world-famous flying boat museum welcomes visitors to our re-opening day when we'll be offering free entry for all. There will be face painting, badge making, and fun quizzes for all the family and our ever-popular Coffee Bar will be open selling freshly-made barista coffee and refreshments. We also have an exciting new temporary exhibition - be the first to meet Charlie the remarkable ventriloquist dummy who was a favourite WWII entertainer, as featured on Antiques Roadshow! And, don't be surprised if you spot the odd Stormtrooper or two!
