Pembrokeshire, Wales loves a good festival. Any excuse really, especially if there’s food event involved.

Narberth Food Festival at the end of September is a must for foodies as is the Milford Fish Festival in spring.  The Big Retreat Wales in Lawrenny is a feel-good festival – discover energy, inspiration, bands, books, new tastes and inner calm.

But there are plenty more. Llangwm’s Literary Festival has a fascinating programme of writers, poets and storytellers while the Edge Festival in Solva and Westival near Manorbier mix music with the arts.

Music is a big part of Pembrokeshire. Unearthed is a 3-day festival that entertains with world music and The Narberth A Capella Voice Festival celebrates the art of singing without instruments with live performances and workshops. On top of all of that, there’re folk festivals, jazz festivals, blues festivals hosted in amazing venues including a Cathedral, local theatres, villages halls, pubs and cafes.

When it comes to sporting events Long Course Weekendchallenges participants to swim, bike and run over three days leading up to Ironman Wales, the ultimate in triathlons. There are smaller triathlons in Fishguard and Saundersfoot plus Coast Path runs, long-distance swims, park runs and not forgetting the Tour of Pembrokeshire, the ultimate cycling event.

In October 2022, the seaside village of Saundersfoot will host the World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals. Known as flatwater rowing’s wilder cousin, coastal rowing is an exhilarating sport the brings the elite of international coastal rowing together for short, sharp sprint racing all within easy sight of Saundersfoot beach. And we can’t wait!
