When you enter the walls of Tenby, you’ll find yourselves in the old town’s cobbled streets, where medieval walls, winding lanes and colourful Georgian façades create a timeless atmosphere. Why not stop a while in Sergeants Lane – where you’ll find chairs and tables set beneath fairy lights and bunting, surrounded by flowerpots and within easy reach of the bar at Harbwr brewery which is located across several historic buildings along the lane. Visit the National Trusts Tudor Merchant’s House to discover how Tenby’s merchants once lived over 500 years ago and gain insight into the town’s rich past. This narrow house is typical of the type of prosperous merchant’s house that sprang up when Tenby was a thriving port in the late Middle Ages. Visitors get an intimate look at how they would have lived.

Explore the coast path
Head along South Beach to join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path at the far end near the village of Penally. You’ll pass Tenby Golf club and the old WWII training trenches. At Giltar point you’ll get a breathtaking view of both Tenby and Caldey Island, which feels within touching distance. Carry on walking along the path towards Lydstep until you get to a sign for Bubbleton Farm Shop & Café leave the path and head across the field to enjoy a well-deserved coffee and homemade cake before heading back the way you’ve come. Bubbleton is closed on a Wednesday.

- Tenby is very compact and easy to get around on foot. For those coming to Tenby by car there are 3 large car parks close to the town walls and several others 5 minutes’ walk from town. In the main multistorey car park it’s worth knowing that the higher up you go the longer you can stay – ground floor parking is for a maximum of 2 hours, whilst the top floor you can stay for days or weeks. There is also the option of getting to the town by train, with the station in walking distance of the town centre.
