Set in an imposing Tudor castle, this market is full-on Christmassy and bursting with Nadolig Llawen (Happy Christmas in Welsh) vibes. Complete with fairy lights, and a huge Christmas tree, there’s a brilliant selection of stalls offering locally sourced produce, handmade and handcrafted gifts, and scrumptious refreshments for all to enjoy. The dates this year are the 28th, 29th and 30th of November. Entry to the castle is free during the Christmas market.
The utterly charming little seaside town of Newport, in the north of the county, will be holding its annual Christmas celebrations and welcoming everyone to come along and enjoy a lantern parade, Christmas market and live music along with the obligatory street food and late-night shopping. For a community feel and small-town sensibility, this celebration will be sure to tick all the yuletide boxes. The date this year is the 13th December.
Located in the big green barn at Scolton Manor, you will find the Christmas market if you venture beyond the traditional Margaret steam engine and the farm shop. With lovely woodland walks and adventure playgrounds for the children on site, you can make a real day of it. There will be various local arts and craft stalls to discover, along with food and drink. Scolton will also be holding children’s Christmas craft workshops on the 22nd November. The dates this year are the 13th and 14th of December.
Picton Castle truly embraces Christmas, with the 13th-century building exuding stately home grandeur and festive spirit. Offering a Christmas market that looks the part, there’ll be gift stalls aplenty and a variety of edible enticements. Picton also separately offers wreath making workshops and opportunities to meet a Victorian Santa Claus. The market is held on the 22nd and 23rd of November.

Picture postcard perfect St Davids is the UK’s smallest, and cutest, city – and it knows how to do Christmas very well indeed. Throw the cathedral’s choral calendar and the city’s twinkling shops and cafes together, and you have a powerfully festive combo. The Christmas market is held at Oriel y Parc – the gateway to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park – on the 29th November, plus there will be a chance for children to send a letter to Santa (and receive a reply!) between the 22nd November and the 19th December.
In the heart of the Preseli Hills there is a simply gorgeous spot called Llys y Fran, where you can stretch your legs with a stroll around the reservoir, a spot of mountain biking, climbing, archery or, for children, simply letting off steam in the adventure playground. Llys y Fran’s Christmas Market will be held on the 6th and 7th of December and will include festive stalls selling a variety of homemade items that will make perfect Christmas presents. They will also be hosting a creative Christmas card linocut (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linocut) printing workshop on the same days.
The Christmas Market at Great Wedlock Farm and Deer Park’s very own Makers Market Barn are full on celebrations of Christmas. Just a short drive from Tenby, they take place on the 6th/7th December, 13th/14th December, and the 20th/21st December. With food and drink including festive coffee, cake, loaded fries and other tasty treats, there are stalls aplenty selling arts, crafts and gifts. Plus you can even pre-order your Christmas day food items from the market. Children will love meeting Santa in his grotto, receiving a goodie bag and having their photographs taken professionally, not to mention dropping off their letters to Santa in the festive post box on site.
Melin Tregwynt Christmas Fair A high class Christmas fair can be found at Melin Tregwynt – a working Pembrokeshire mill that produces fine Welsh woollen items. The fair is a wonderful chance to see the mill itself in action, and also to browse the beautiful collection of textiles available in their shop (with special discounts during the fair weekend). But that’s just the beginning, the fair is the perfect opportunity to pick up that unique Christmas gift, with 50 stalls of quality Welsh arts and crafts on offer, and when all the shopping has worn you out, their cafe will be serving festive specials and winter warmer drinks to help you recover.
Taking place across the 28th-30th November, the Queens Halls Christmas Market in Narberth is an epic affair with so many stalls that they are on three floors. You will find unique gifts, craft, food and drink (there’s a licensed bar), plus children can meet Santa for free! These three days will give you everything you require for your Christmas shopping under one grand roof. And then, as if that’s not enough, simply step outside to find Narberth’s independent shopping and food scene all bedecked and ready for Christmas. Hallelujah!
Tenby Christmas Market
The 29th of November is a date not to be missed as the town of Tenby puts on its annual Christmas spectacle. Tenby will be resplendent with live music, a Christmas market and the switching on of the festive lights. The town council promises ‘a joyful day full of family fun, festive cheer, and support for our local community’ with shopping, food and drink, entertainment and local acts, plus fundraising for good causes. There will be a Christmas Parade, with Santa arriving by lifeboat - courtesy of Tenby RNLI - for a 'blue light' escort to Tudor Square, plus Tenby Round Table's infamous Santa Run.
