Peachie’s four founders built the day around a simple idea: finding the right balance in menopause. Most women go through it in parallel rather than together, comparing notes in snatched messages or, worse, saying nothing at all.
The retreat begins at 9.30am on Newgale Beach with teas, coffees and introductions, and is built to be both practical and restorative. Ellen Picton, a registered nutritionist who owns Pembrokeshire-based Healthaspire, opens with a session on nutrition during menopause. Menopause coach Karen Gibbard then leads a group workshop built around an activity that sends everyone home with a personal takeaway. The afternoon turns to movement and rest: yoga with Remy Green, a Pembrokeshire yoga teacher with ten years of experience, followed by a bracing sea dip and warming sauna with Wild Water Sauna.
Caroline, Sophie, Emma and Becky founded Peachie in 2023, all at different life stages. Between them they were frustrated by the same things: handfuls of capsules, conflicting advice and no simple way to support themselves through this challenging time. So, they made one.
Peachie Toppings are hand-baked blends of nuts and seeds, developed over two years with universities and nutritionists. One 20g serving contains a bespoke blend of 14 vitamins and minerals, including all your daily vitamin D and over a third of your daily magnesium. It also provides more than 3g of protein, omega-3, and is high in fibre.
The retreat is open to women at any stage of menopause, including those who are not yet sure whether they have started. Sessions are built so that nobody needs to arrive knowing anyone, however friends are also more than welcome. Gentle movement runs through the day, and the cold-water dip and sauna are optional.
Caroline, co-founder of Peachie, said: “Finding your balance in menopause rarely comes from adding more rules. For most of us, it comes from a few simple things done well and taking some time for ourselves. That's what this event is all about.”
Everyone leaves with a wellness goodie bag, samples and little extras, including a pack of Peachie toppings, and an open invitation to stay part of the Peachie community once the day is over.
Location: Newgale Beach, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. The nutrition talk and coaching workshop are held at Victoria Hall, Roch.
Access: The beach has uneven ground and limited step-free access. The cold dip and sauna are optional and a waiver is signed on site.
Leading the sessions: Ellen Picton, registered nutritionist at Healthaspire. Karen Gibbard, menopause coach. Remy Green, Pembrokeshire yoga teacher with ten years of experience. Wild Water Sauna, sea dip and sauna.
World Menopause Day falls on 18 October each year and is recognised internationally to raise awareness of menopause and the support options available to women.
