Yes, it’s true! The original iconic Star Wars starship was built in the town in 1979 for the Oscar-winning film The Empire Strikes Back.
Every year now we celebrate our Star Wars connections with a Falcon Fun Day, held on the Spring bank holiday at the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.
We welcome Star Wars costumers and model-makers. Fans can walk among stormtroopers, marvel at the escapades of R2D2, shake hands with a Wookiee, grab a selfie with Darth Vader, and learn how to wield a light saber! There will be face-painting for children and a tasty barbecue.
Come inside the museum to see our permanent exhibition that tells the story of how our small town in Wales became the birthplace of a Hollywood legend - and why the starship's construction became the worst-kept secret in town!
Our display includes photographs – many not seen in public before – as well as unique film of the construction, and a detailed sectioned model of the stages of construction of the original. Find out more about our Star Wars connections on our Millennium Falcon page.
