In 1971 a group of hotel and guest house owners came together along with some self-catering accommodation providers to take on and develop the marketing of the St Davids peninsula from the St Davids City Council. With the aim to promote tourism and holidays to Visitors, the St Davids Peninsula Tourist Association came into existence.
Since these early days, a yearly brochure known as the ‘Broad Sheet’ continues to be produced with useful information for the visitor. In 2004 the step was taken to develop a website to complement the Broad Sheet.
In 2022 the Association has 70 members.
The Committee meets in January, March, May, July, September and November with the AGM in late November.
Advertising through Membership of the Association is open to any business, trade or service provider operating within the St Davids Peninsula.
Membership entitles the member to a Line Entry in the Broadsheet brochure and an entry on the website together with a link to their web site or homepage.
Annual membership fee with line entry in brochure: £130
Annual membership fee + box advert in brochure (space permitting) - £290
We also have a new pricing structure for those with more than one business - please get in touch to find out more.
The Broadsheet print run for 2024 is intended to be 70,000 copies. These Broadsheets are distributed professionally throughout Wales & the West and to Tourist Information Centres and motorway service stations etc. throughout the whole of mainland Britain.
Marketing: The Association pays for the distribution of the Broadsheet brochures and also pays for the polylope and postage costs of copies sent by the Oriel y Parc Visitor Centre, St Davids to web site and telephone enquirers.
The Association advertises in the Coast to Coast National Park paper, in the Visit Pembrokeshire Guide and has a daily online advertising budget. There is annual sponsorship of a concert at the St Davids Cathedral Festival.
Other activities in which the association is involved with are the annual St Davids Day celebrations and the annual Sand Church Contest on Whitesands Beach.
