Pembrokeshire Streetscape Paint Scheme

Pembrokeshire County Council's Streetscape Paint Scheme offers a grant of 80%, up to a maximum grant value of £4,999, towards the cost of repainting the external façades of retail properties in the town centre zones of Fishguard and Goodwick, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Tenby, St Davids, Narberth, Newport, Saundersfoot and Crymych.

The façade must be visible from the street the property is located on. Contact the council to find out which areas are included in the phases currently in progress.

Transforming Towns: Placemaking Grants

Transforming Towns is a Welsh Government funded programme that aims to address the decline in town centres by bringing empty and derelict buildings back into commercial use through refurbishment and repurposing. Projects might include refurbishing empty buildings, new build projects, green infrastructure to improve biodiversity, and improvements to public spaces, all helping towns become places for living, working, learning and leisure.

Grants cover 70% of total project costs, up to a maximum of £300,000, and applications are considered case by case. Eligible town centres are Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Fishguard, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and Tenby. Projects must meet the relevant planning and building control requirements, so check these with the planning authority before a full application.

Commercial Property Development Fund (CPDF)

The Commercial Property Development Fund is targeted at investment in commercial premises within town centres, creating new or repurposed floor space to support commercial activity. Projects creating office or retail space, or improving commercial building frontages, will also be considered, with each scheme assessed on its own merits. Grants are capped at £100,000 or 70% of the project value, whichever is lower.

Pembrokeshire Lottery

Pembrokeshire Lottery provides “soft” loan assistance to businesses seeking to consolidate or grow within Pembrokeshire, particularly those businesses which are, or have, the opportunity of drawing in resources from outside the area or to provide services not presently available locally; thus consolidating and creating permanent secure employment within the area and contributing to the increase of skill and educational levels within the County.

Wales Tourism Investment Fund

The Welsh Government, in partnership with the Development Bank of Wales, has launched a new £50m fund, Wales Tourism Investment Fund (WTIF) which brings together both commercial and grant funding into one combined package of financial support to provide capital investment for the sector. The key objective of the Fund will be to help finance capital investment in tourism projects which have the opportunity to create positive impact on growing the sector and the Welsh economy.

Working Wales ReAct Plus

ReAct+ offers tailored support to those trying to re-enter the labour market by removing barriers and providing grant support for vocational training, travel costs and care (including childcare) related to training. ReAct+ is a grant programme that builds on the success of previous programmes and contributes to the Welsh Government’s Young Person’s Guarantee. ReAct+ also supports prospective employers with up to £4000 towards wages in the first year of a new job for an eligible employee.

Business Growth Grant, Business Start-Up Grant, Carbon Reduction Grant and Micro Grant

Pembrokeshire County Council offers capital and revenue funding for businesses in the county, including the Business Growth Grant, Business Start-Up Grant, Carbon Reduction Grant and Micro Grant (£500 to £2,000).
