A resource from Visit Pembrokeshire to help your SME locate the funding it needs to grow

Here in Pembrokeshire we have a whole host of Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs), local businesses and individuals working hard to enhance our county both economically and culturally. It's not always clear where to go to find funding support, so we have collected together a range of support on this page to save you time and help you achieve your business goals in our entrepreneurial county.

Street Enhancement Programme

As part of their ongoing commitment to Regeneration in Pembrokeshire, PCC are delivering the Streetscape Enhancement Scheme that is funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (Applications close 30th June 2025). The aim of the grant intervention is to improve the attractiveness of town centre commercial properties in order to encourage footfall and support businesses and organisations to create new jobs and strengthen the mix of businesses within the town centres, whilst improving the overall look of the surrounding area.

Food and Drink Wales Support Programmes

The Welsh Government and its partners provide a range of programmes and projects to support the Welsh food and drink industry which enables businesses to grow and remain sustainable. Some of these programmes and projects offer financial aid, others advice, while some offer the chance to join collaborative partnerships which open-up opportunities to experience best practice and new ideas. But all are designed to create real opportunities for you to make your business better.

Pembrokeshire Lottery

Pembrokeshire Lottery provides “soft” loan assistance to businesses seeking to consolidate or grow within Pembrokeshire, particularly those businesses which are, or have, the opportunity of drawing in resources from outside the area or to provide services not presently available locally; thus consolidating and creating permanent secure employment within the area and contributing to the increase of skill and educational levels within the County.

Wales Tourism Investment Fund

The Development Bank of Wales was set up by the Welsh Government to support the economy of Wales by making it easier for businesses to get the finance needed to start up, strengthen and grow. Their flexible business loans can support the full business lifecycle from start-ups and growing businesses, to succession transactions including employee buy-outs. Their loans range from £1k to £10m over terms of up to 15 years with fixed interest rates.

Grants can offer you the opportunity to develop your business without the need for expensive bank loans or spending personal savings. Landsker Business Solutions are grant funding experts and their extensive knowledge means they may be able to identify grants that will benefit your business. Development Bank of Wales

Development Bank of Wales offer a range of loans and investment from £1,000 and £6 million. Their flexible loans can be combined with grants from other providers to give you the complete funding package you require. Working Wales ReAct Plus

ReAct+ offers tailored support to those trying to re-enter the labour market by removing barriers and providing grant support for vocational training, travel costs and care (including childcare) related to training. ReAct+ is a grant programme that builds on the success of previous programmes and contributes to the Welsh Government’s Young Person’s Guarantee. ReAct+ also supports prospective employers with up to £4000 towards wages in the first year of a new job for an eligible employee.

Music Capital Fund

The latest round of the Creative Wales Music Capital Fund offers grants of between £10,000 and £40,000 to small and medium music businesses based in Wales. The aim is for these businesses to identify areas of their establishment and operations in need of capital investment. Successful applicants to the fund would then put the funding towards improving and increasing their own businesses' commercial outlook and sustainability, in turn benefiting the wider music industry in Wales either directly or indirectly.

Business Growth Grant, Business Start-Up Grant, Carbon Reduction Grant and Micro Grant

Capital and revenue business funding is available to businesses within Pembrokeshire under four categories, Business Growth Grant, Business Start Up Grant, Carbon Reduction Grant, and Micro Grant (opens 1st June 2025). Each grant will be a contribution to your proposed overall scheme with the applicant having to source a minimum 50% as match funding from elsewhere (except Micro Grant where other rules apply).
