Visit Pembrokeshire is the official Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for Pembrokeshire. Our role is to encourage and support the growth of tourism sustainably for the benefit of all. We take the lead on promoting all aspects of our beautiful county from its sandy beaches and stunning coastal path, to the Preseli Mountains, our Market towns and the fabulous tourism businesses throughout. We do so whilst also encouraging positive visitor behaviour to safeguard what makes our beautiful corner of Southwest Wales so unique and special. We believe that Pembrokeshire as a destination is ‘soul food; a place that’s good for your mind and body, offering a unique and world-class visitor experience and where you leave seeing life that little bit differently. Sharing our passion for all things Pembrokeshire, is our Strategic Partner, holidaycottages.co.uk, who have a track record of giving back to the local communities across Wales, and whose guests love to visit Pembrokeshire all year round.
In partnership with holidaycottages.co.uk, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our first ever community fund initiative; inviting community organisations and local charities that benefit Pembrokeshire to apply for one of three £1,000 funds to support their important, ongoing efforts.
In line with Pembrokeshire’s Destination Management Plan, we are focused on collaborative working to deliver net-positive and sustainable tourism, that is good for the people that live and work in Pembrokeshire. We have partnered with holidaycottages.co.uk as they share this vision, with a focus on supporting local communities, enhancing the natural environment and supporting the Pembrokeshire economy.
holidaycottages.co.uk are one of the UK’s largest holiday cottage providers, with over 600 accommodation offerings available in Pembrokeshire alone. The organisation is committed to supporting the communities in which their guests love to holiday, including beautiful Pembrokeshire. From sponsoring local charities and businesses to promoting environmental initiatives, they’re committed to leaving a positive impact through responsible tourism.
Talking about the Visit Pembrokeshire Community Fund, Serena Pearce, Regional Communities manager for The Travel Chapter which owns holidaycottages.co.uk, commented: “We are incredibly excited to be launching this community fund with Visit Pembrokeshire. At holidaycottages.co.uk, we are passionate about supporting the communities where we operate, and we take great pride in giving back to the places our guests love to visit. By investing in local projects, we aim to create lasting, positive impacts which help towns and villages thrive and remain cherished destinations for visitors and residents alike. We can’t wait to get started and make a positive impact together.”
Serena added: “While our partnership with Visit Pembrokeshire is only just beginning, this is by no means the start of our journey in supporting communities across the region. holidaycottages.co.uk has proudly supported a range of local charities to leave a lasting, positive impact across the region over the last few years. Most recently, this includes sponsoring the Saundersfoot New Years Day Swim, with the 2025 event raising over £30,000 for worthy local causes.”
