If you’re attending a large event in Pembrokeshire, odds are that local legend and all-round good guy Phil Kidney and his team are running the bar.

Q: Phil, what brings you to Pembrokeshire and why did you decide to set up your business here?
I was raised in Pembrokeshire and have always had a deep connection to the area. After leaving to work and gain experience, I returned in my late twenties with a vision to build something of my own. That’s when Pembrokeshire Drinks was born, a wholesale business rooted in quality, reliability, and a genuine passion for the local community.
A few years later, Absolute Event Bars naturally grew alongside it, allowing us to expand into events and bring the same level of service directly to customers. What started as a small venture has developed into a proud family-run business, growing steadily over the years through hard work, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to what we do. Being family-run is at the heart of everything. We care deeply about our customers, our reputation, and the community we’re part of.
Q. What does ‘Absolute Event Bars’ do exactly?
We supply outside bars for weddings music festivals and corporate events all around Pembrokeshire and surrounding areas, including events such as Carten and the big annual Pembrokeshire County Show.
Q. What’s the thing you enjoy most when running your business?
Helping to create events that showcase the best of Pembrokeshire. A good example of this will be the ‘Rock the Deck’ weekend in Saundersfoot, running on the 1st & 2nd May. It’s brilliant to support these events against such iconic backdrops such as Saundersfoot harbour.
Q. How can you help prospective clients?
We help organise and run events smoothly. From dealing with all licensing issues, ordering and controlling stock, organising staffing, making sure there’s enough glassware. We do the all the work, and take all the stress away!
