Rib & Oyster

Rib and Oyster is our little success story that blossomed in the wake of lockdown. Owned by Gavin, a local fisherman with over 20 years of experience, and his wife Lucy, they took a small gamble during those challenging times. They purchased a refrigerated van, stocked it with the highest quality fish and seafood, and began searching for places to sell their produce. Like many, we all became chefs during lockdown! From two-hour queues at Wisemans Bridge, Pembroke, and other Pembrokeshire locations, the small side line grew unnoticed into what we now know as The Rib and Oyster.

Fast forward a few months to July 2021, recognizing a significant gap in high-quality produce available in Pembrokeshire, Gavin and Lucy opened The Rib and Oyster. Initially, it was a fishmonger and butcher. Within just two months, they added six tables, and soon after, the restaurant itself opened—a step neither had even considered just a few months earlier.

Now, four years on, they have built an outstanding reputation for supplying Pembrokeshire residents and visitors with the finest meat and fish products. They also supply eight Cardiff restaurants and deliver throughout Pembrokeshire and South West Wales several times a week. Their small, intimate restaurant has expanded with more tables and gained a loyal following, thanks to daily fish specials, locally sourced Welsh steaks, homemade burgers, premium seafood, and their most popular dish—the Surf and Turf sharing platter. This indulgent dish features Welsh steak, lobster, mussels, tiger prawns, and the fish of the day, paired with a fish sauce and local samphire, served with your choice of potatoes, homemade beer-battered onion rings, and grilled tomatoes. It’s truly a meal to remember!
