Pembroke Castle

'A Wonder of Wales' - The Norman's seat of power in west Wales, founded over 900 years ago and the birthplace of the Tudor Dynasty.

About Pembroke Castle

The Norman invaders established Pembroke Castle over 900 years ago and it has remained one of Wales' most impressive landmarks ever since. It is the birthplace of the Tudor Dynasty, a site of power and prestige throughout the middle ages for significant historical figures and an unbreakable medieval stronghold during medieval sieges and civil war battles.

It is also unique in being built over a natural cavern 'The Wogan' that visitors can descend into and learn about the recent work of archaeologists uncovering evidence of Britain's earliest human inhabitants.

It is recommended that visitors set aside at least three to four hours to explore the towers, cave, dungeon, gatehouse, numerous exhibitions, take the free guided tour and enjoy lunch and refreshments in the 'Castle Kitchen'. The Gift Shop is brimming with quality local produce, fascinating books and wonderful souvenirs.

Features
