Cnapan Guest House

About Cnapan Guest House

Cnapan is a fine listed Georgian townhouse located in the historic centre of Newport/Trefdraeth which, in turn, lies nestled where the beautiful Preseli Hills roll down to meet the spectacular Pembrokeshire National Park Coast.

Judith Cooper has been running the kitchen since the beginning sourcing quality local foods whenever possible – Welsh Black Beef, Penclaudd Mussels, sewin (sea trout), lobster and crab from Newport Bay, Preseli lamb, Cardigan Bay scallops, prize-winning local cheeses as well as locally grown garden fruit and vegetables whenever possible.

Around Cnapan you will find bookcases full of maps, local information, magazines and books. Enjoy the hospitality of our cosy bar, perhaps choosing a wine from our list for the evening’s meal.

Cnapan lies within easy walking distance of a variety of shops, galleries, cafes, pubs the Coast Path and beach, Carningli and the Preseli Hills without needing to drive anywhere in the car.

Three generations of the Lloyds and Coopers have run Cnapan since 1984 and have featured in the Good Hotel Guide and The Good Food Guide continuously for more than 20 years. Michael & Judith Cooper and staff will give you the warmest of welcomes on your arrival at Cnapan.

It is a house with a ‘lived-in’ and loved feeling and from the generous hallway with its traditional oak Welsh dresser crowded with old family treasures, to the spacious pretty bedrooms, you will immediately feel at home in this comfortable house.

Our five double/twin en-suite bedrooms are decorated in a light and airy style, one of them being a family room which has an adjoining bedroom with bunk beds. Each room has a supply of books for holiday reading (can be borrowed if not finished by the end of your stay), and lots of local information to plan your activities for your visit.  If you want to bring your laptop we have WiFi internet access in all rooms.
