This summer, film magic returns as the Torch Theatre’s Sunset Cinema season brings a series of open-air film screenings to some of the most striking locations in the county. From the seaside charm of Saundersfoot Harbour to the historic grandeur of Pembroke Castle, audiences can enjoy a mix of blockbusters, family favourites, and sing-along classics in settings that are every bit as memorable as the films themselves.
At the heart of the season is Saundersfoot Harbour, where several of this year’s standout screenings will take place. With its picturesque waterfront and vibrant community atmosphere, the harbour makes the perfect venue for everything from musical evenings to afternoon family shows. As part of the line-up, visitors can expect feel-good films, iconic soundtracks, and a warm, welcoming setting – whether they’re visiting for a matinee with the kids or an evening date night.

Saundersfoot Harbour
Over in Pembroke, the cinematic magic continues within the walls of the castle itself. This dramatic setting offers a unique opportunity to enjoy film in a location steeped in Welsh history. The castle grounds will transform into a vast outdoor auditorium, making for two unmissable nights beneath the towers and turrets.
Torch Theatre’s Sunset Cinema events are held in partnership with Pure West Radio and feature a state-of-the-art outdoor LED screen, meaning screenings can go ahead in most weather conditions. Audiences are encouraged to dress appropriately, bring blankets or camping chairs, and check the forecast before arriving. Tickets for all Torch Theatre outdoor screenings are £12 in advance or £15 on the gate, available at torchtheatre.co.uk or at each venue.
Adding a fresh twist to this year’s outdoor cinema offerings, Tŵr y Felin Hotel in St Davids will host an exclusive evening of film and fine hospitality on Saturday 16 August. Guests are invited to relax in the hotel’s beautiful grounds for a special screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The evening will include a specially curated menu and Caribbean-inspired cocktails served from the outdoor bar — a perfect blend of adventure, atmosphere, and gourmet indulgence. Tickets are £12 and available via the Tŵr y Felin website, https://twryfelinhotel.com
Pembrokeshire’s outdoor cinema events offer a unique way to experience film – and the landscapes that make this corner of Wales so special.
