King's Mill Camping

Ynglŷn â King's Mill Camping

Nestled in the grounds of an 18 century watermill you will find our special campsite. Our vision here is to leave the 16 acres as wild as possible. We have planted acres of new deciduous woodland and sown millions of native wild flower seeds creating what is now a haven for nature lovers and a place to unwind, relax and absorb the beauty of this breathtaking county. Our dog friendly campsite is just a stones throw from so many of Pembrokeshire’s stunning beaches with the mighty Freshwater West just 2 miles away and Broadhaven South, Bosheston Lily Ponds and Barafundle Bay to name just a few areas of local outstanding natural beauty are just a short car or cycle journey away. There really is so much to explore on this part of the peninsular.

We have 14 unique pitches here at King’s Mill, some on the meadow and a cluster nestled in the woodland. Each pitch has been carefully planted with native shrubs and trees so that a sense of privacy prevails as they flourish with maturity. All of our pitches have their very own eco-toilet and you can wash off your sandy toes after the days adventures in your own private gas shower…under the stars if you choose! Each pitch also has its own under cover shelter with a preparation bench, a picnic table and campfire. These areas offer shelter on a rainy day (we do have some!) and the hottest of Pembrokeshire days.

You’ll be vying for it to be your turn to do the washing up in our tranquil communal area. Here you can wash the dishes after you have cooked over your open fire (every pitch has one) and listen out for our resident Lesser-spotted woodpecker. Enjoy the twinkling solar lights and spend time planning the next days adventures as you peruse our ‘Thing’s to do in the Area’ board. This shady woodland nook also houses our little ‘Siop Cwtchi’ where you can browse the shelves of our honesty shop and pick up an ice-cream, fresh local produce or quirky eco-products that may take your fancy.

Enjoy the ritual of being a hunter gatherer here at King’s Mill. While exploring our ancient woodland you will come across hidden rope swings and secret paths that will lead you through glady fauna to the babbling brook. Collect firewood as you meander through the forest or visit our woodshed and collect your own free pre-chopped logs.

Our 5 star Google reviews speak for themselves. We invite you to visit and experience getting back to nature here at King’s Mill – with just a few campsite luxuries!

We will always do our best to make sure that everyone who wants to visit King’s Mill is able to do so. Should you have any special needs please get in touch in advance so that we can make sure you get the best out of your stay here.

Motor homes and camper vans won’t have any problem travelling along the lane that leads to the site. The road is quite wide as country lanes go and there are plenty of places to pull in.

We have a wide gated entrance to the site. This is wide enough for caravans and motor homes to manoeuvre through with ease. These gates must be closed when entering and exiting the site.

The site is fairly flat in general and the pitches are level. Each pitch has its own parking space next to the pitch. If a second vehicle is coming please let us know in advance as we do have a limited number of spaces in an an overflow area.

Those pitches that accommodate vans have a surface that stays well drained even in the heaviest downpours Pembrokeshire has to offer. We have never had a problem with vehicles slipping, sliding or getting stuck.

Caravans must have a motor mover.

We only have 14 pitches here and the site is well sign posted to ensure that all vehicles drive in 1st gear.

Arriving from Pembroke when you see the Specualtion Inn pub turn left. Follow the road for approximately 2 miles and keep your eyes out for King’s Mill on your right hand side. If you get to the stone roundabout (The Pound) in Castlemartin you have gone too far. If you do reach The Pound then follow the sign in the direction of Hundleton and travel approx 800m. We will then be on the left.

If travelling by train then Pembroke will be the nearest station (approx 15 minutes by car). Please get in touch in advance if you need help arranging transport from the station to the site.
