A hidden gem in a beautiful setting, Hop Garden cottage is hidden down a quiet country lane on the site of a historic manor house dating back to the 15th Century.  This pretty cottage looks towards Beggars Reach, Cosheston and Lawrenny woodland.

Steeped in history the site is being lovingly restored with Hop Garden converted to a high standard with under floor heating, flagstone floors, oak doors and a welcoming wood burning stove for warm evenings in.

Open plan living arrangements with a range cooker, butlers sink, the well fitted and equipped kitchen makes preparing holiday meals a joy.  The two bedrooms are comfortably furnished with estuary views.  The large bathroom has separate bath and shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet.

On your doorstep there are many glorious countryside and estuary walks, fabulous wildlife and a wide variety of birds.  There is easy access to the estuary for launching boats and kayaks from Lawrenny Quay.

The country towns of Narberth and Pembrok are both 20 minutes drive away with a good variety of restaurants, cafes, shops and galleries.  Pembroke has a special castle, the birthplace of Henry II.  The golden sandy beaches of Tenby and Saundersfoot are also nearby.

Hop Garden cottage is all on the ground floor though there are two small steps up to the front door.

Directions

Routes to St Clears (10 miles west of Carmarthen) are straight forward.

At St Clears roundabout take the first exit onto the A477 towards Pembroke Dock.  Follow the road to the roundabout at Carew and take the third exit.  Pass Carew Castle on your left, over the bridge (give way to oncoming vehicles) and up the hill.  At the top of at Whitehill turn left signposted to Lawrenny.  Follow this road for approximately 5 miles.  Do not turn off it though it will bend and turn.  Through Cresswell Quay and over the bridge, bear left up the hill.  Follow the road for about three more miles straight across two crossroads that will be signposted to Coedcanlas.  Through Southern Pitts dairy farm, across another small bridge and up the hill past Chapel Cottage.  Another half a mile with the river on your left you will pass Beggars Reach house on your right and come to a row of stone barn conversions in front of you on a right hand bend.  Hop Garden Cottage is facing you with plenty of parking outside.

The nearest stations are Narberth or Pembroke.  There is no public transport to Coedcanlas.  You would have to book a taxi from the station.
