Eco-Escape Campsite

Ynglŷn â Eco-Escape Campsite

Eco Escape is our small, family-run, eco-friendly campsite, nestled in the valley of our working farm.

We offer a low-key and relaxed camping and glamping experience in beautiful surroundings, on the edge of an ancient oak woodland.

Woodland trails, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and an inlet of the Tidal Estuary are all within 100 metres of your tents, and just a short walk up the country lane, you will find the local pub, serving hearty pub food.

Our pretty little site is never overcrowded and each tent has ample space, along with either their own sheltered BBQ and fire pit area or access to a communal shelter for cooking and eating so it won’t matter if there is a shower!

Our wood-fired hot tub, meadow swing and field space for games mean there is something for all the family, and we are a perfect base from which to explore the best of Pembrokeshire’s stunning beaches and coastline!

We are just 10 minutes to our nearest beach (dog-friendly all year round – as are we), 20 minutes to the village of Dale (offering a whole host of watersports, as well as a decent pub and restaurant), 25 minutes away from the stunning Tenby and Saundersfoot (popular tourist destinations), 30 minutes from St Davids (and it’s grand cathedral) and less than 30 minutes from a number of adventure parks (Oakwood, Blue Stone, Heatherton, Folly Farm) that are guaranteed to keep you busy.

Having grown up on a farm in the heart of Pembrokeshire, we have a deep appreciation of the countryside, and our beloved environment, and so are passionate about recyling and upcycling, and doing our part to look after the environment.

Our aim is ultimately to become a zero-carbon campsite. Therefore, we have many eco-features to our site. You can choose between flushing toilets or our composting eco-toilets, admire our up-cycled firepits and furniture, buy our sustainable firewood, and contribute something greater to the environment, by simply choosing to stay with us – we plant a tree and donate towards great environmental projects for every camper we host. We also provide solar lighting, and offset our energy use by having wind turbines, gently generating away on the edge of the farmland. There’s no electricity. Just firelight and the starry night sky!

We offer an escape away from the hustle and bustle, a chance to relax and reconnect with family, friends, and nature, an opportunity to try new experiences, see new, breathtaking places, and feed the soul with wild and fun adventures!

The gated entrance uses an existing hard standing agricultural lane for about 150 metres before you get to the signposted field gate. Cross this field to get to the glamping and camping meadow access. Vehicles are not allowed onto the glamping meadow, so parking is right next to the gateway just 50m from your tent for convenience, as long as weather is permitting.

Leave the M4 onto the A48 to Carmarthen, and then take the A40 to Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. You will find yourself along the A4076 towards Milford Haven. After passing through a town called Johnston you will reach a roundabout, the SatNav (aiming for SA73 1DN) should take you off at the first exit down the A477 to the next roundabout, where you will take the second exit towards Waterston. You will take a right on the next junction onto the B4325. This road passes through a village called Waterston. Go straight over the mini roundabout and approximately one mile along this road, you will see wind turbines on your right. Slow down, just after the sign on the left for Venn Farm, you will see a set of blue gates signposted JP Autos Venn Garage. Our entrance is just before this, on the right. Drive down the farm track (through the gate) and the entrance to our site is the second gate you come to on your left (signposted Eco Escape).
Drive down this field and park outside the gate at the bottom, with the bunting. Walk through this gate. Our meadow camping pitches and the glamping meadow are to your left, our woodland camping pitches and woodland bell tents are to the right (through two more farm gates and down the small track). Ring me on 07976647477/07812404316 if you get lost.

Eco-escape site is at the intersection of multiple footpaths, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path runs just along the foot of the glamping meadow and also joins a woodland trail. Both lead into Milford Haven where public transport and other services are available. The closest bus stop is a mile to the west of the site on Castle Terrace, although there is another just over a mile up the country lane (in Steynton). The nearest train station is in Milford Haven (just a 5 minute drive). Alternatively, there are numerous reasonable taxis available.
