Festivals and Events in Pembrokeshire
Here in Wales, we love a good festival. And in Pembrokeshire, we’ll take any excuse, especially if there’s food involved!
Narberth Food Festival at the end of September is a must for foodies, as is the Milford Fish Festival in spring. The Big Retreat, on the banks of the Daugleddau Estuary, is a feel-good wellbeing festival where you can discover energy, new experiences and inner calm.
But there are plenty more. Llangwm’s Literary Festival has a fascinating programme of writers, poets and storytellers, while the Edge Festival in Solva and Westival near Manorbier mix music with the arts.
Music is a big part of Pembrokeshire. Unearthed is a 3-day festival of world music, and The Narberth A Capella Voice Festival celebrates the art of singing without instruments, with live performances and workshops to get involved in. On top of all of that, there are also various Folk, Jazz and Blues festivals hosted in amazing venues including the Cathedral, theatres, village halls, pubs and cafes.
When it comes to sporting events, the Long Course Weekend challenges participants to swim, bike and run over three days leading up to our ultimate triathlon event, Ironman Wales. There are smaller triathlons in Fishguard and Saundersfoot, as well as Coast Path runs, long-distance swims, park runs and the incredible Tour of Pembrokeshire cycling event.
In October 2022, the seaside village of Saundersfoot will host the World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals. Known as flatwater rowing’s wilder cousin, coastal rowing is an exhilarating sport, and this event will bring the international coastal rowing elite together on our shores for short, exciting races – all within easy sight of Saundersfoot beach. We can’t wait!
