Welcome to an Evening Under the Open Sky. Pull up a picnic blanket, pour yourself a drink, and prepare to laugh. We're thrilled to welcome The Festival Players to the grounds of Lampeter House for a glorious summer evening of live outdoor theatre, Shakespeare's way, exactly as it was meant to be enjoyed.
What could go wrong when two sets of identical twins end up in the same town on the same day? Everything, and that's precisely the point. One of Shakespeare's earliest and most riotously funny plays, The Comedy of Errors follows twin sons and their twin servants, torn apart by a shipwreck and reunited by spectacular chaos. Mistaken identities spiral out of control: husbands appear to be in love with the wrong person, debts are flatly refused, and servants boldly lock their masters out of their own homes. Nobody can tell anyone apart and the confusion only deepens.
The Festival Players bring this beloved farce roaring to life with live original music, traditional costume, and the kind of fast-paced, physical storytelling that makes Shakespeare irresistible for first-timers and seasoned theatre-goers alike.
