Whether you’re popping in to grab a coffee, start your day with breakfast, want to enjoy a more leisurely lunch, pick up something from the deli counter or join one of our baking and cookery workshops, you’re welcome at Vic North’s.
Based in the North Pembrokeshire town of Newport, on the West Wales coast, Vic North’s opened in December 2015. A gastronomic ‘one stop shop’, customers can drop in for a coffee, or enjoy lunch in the café, spend a day with us for a workshop at the cookery school, shop for ingredients and, for those days when cooking is just too much to contemplate, buy a nourishing takeaway supper. 
Underpinning all we do is the belief that great food makes life better. Whether you come to Vic North to learn new baking and cookery techniques or hone existing ones, to eat with us or to buy ingredients for your larder, you can be assured of quality and integrity in everything we do.
The Vic North Cookery School first opened its doors in 2014 at Vicky’s home a few miles away just outside Cardigan, following a successful bread making workshop programme. The opening of Vic North’s in Newport will offer cookery school and workshop customers a purpose built space to enjoy Vicky’s very special style of tuition in all things bread and bakes. Courses are due to recommence in May 2016.
There will always be real bread, made by hand from natural ingredients, on the tables at Vic North’s. We cook for flavour and wellbeing, using seasonal and local ingredients to their advantage – lighter, salad based dishes in summer, heartier fare in the colder months. Our ingredients will be recognisable to the domestic cook, too – no artificial additives. 
Our sustaining breakfast menu is the perfect way to set you up for a day at work, or at play in the Preselis or on the fantastic local beaches. Featuring such favourites as Felin Ganol pinhead porridge served with cream and demerara sugar, the house granola (a recipe developed with love in Vicky’s own kitchen) or, for the more adventurous, smashed avocado served with lebneh on sourdough toast and side of house harissa, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. 
Our perfectly formed main menu is available from 9, and includes ciabatta and baguette, soup of the day made with real stock, a hot dish of the day and a vegan option. Add to that our amazing croissants, sourdough bread, generous daily quiches, our fabulous Battenberg cake and our delicious and gluten free (and unique) ‘Pembrokeshire Pockets’ on the menu – all made in house from local ingredients wherever possible, choosing responsibly sourced meat and free range eggs. Whether it’s lunch with family and friends, a solo sandwich or a selection to take to the beach, you’ll find it thoughtfully catered for at Vic North’s.
Add a carefully prepared selection of homemade meals and soups for you to ‘takeaway’ and enjoy at home, and a deli counter bursting with local cheeses, homemade crackers and preserves and other delights, into the mix and you’ll start to understand the ethos of Vic North.
We’re within easy reach of much of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and even Carmarthenshire, perfect for a trip out from Cardigan, Haverford West, Carmarthen or even St Davids or Tenby. Newport has a thriving community of shops and art galleries, great places to stay and plenty to do whether you come for a day or a week.

We are conveniently situated in the heart of Newport, Pembrokeshire. If you are travelling from Cardigan and the North on the A487, take the left turn at the cross roads in the centre of town; travelling from Fishguard and the South, it's a right turn. There is limited parking on Market Street itself, and a longer stay car park close by.
