The Secret Owl Garden

About The Secret Owl Garden

The Secret Owl Garden is home to 25 species of owl. Hidden within the trees, each aviary is designed specifically for each owl or pair of owls.
Throughout the day all of the owls get the opportunity to stretch their wings and fly around the centre. The team also run family friendly interactive sessions where you can learn about the owls and their super powers including silent flight, super hearing and special eye colours. The owls like come along to demonstrate their skills and give everyone an up close look.
For those who want to get even closer to an owl, The Secret Owl Garden offer group taster sessions and private experiences. Group taster sessions are run throughout the day and can be booked on arrival at the shop. These 45 minute sessions give guests the chance to fly an owl to their gloved hand on the castle lawn– the perfect photo opportunity!
Private experiences offer you the chance to fly three different species of owl through the woodland gardens. You will get the chance to meet a small, medium and large owl so that you can feel the difference in weight, see their different flying styles and hear the different noises they make. The experience also includes entry to Picton Castle gardens, entry to The Secret Owl Garden, refreshments in the café and a set of photos to remember the day! Pre-booking is highly recommended as spaces fill up quickly.
