Nook Cottage

About Nook Cottage

Cosy Nook Cottage is ideal for a couple who wish to explore North and South Pembrokeshire with all its outdoor and historical attractions.

We are centrally based for many beaches, eg Broad Haven, Sandy Haven and Little Haven are about 5 miles away; with other lovely places to visit, such as Tenby and St David's, (with its Cathedral and Bishop's Palace) only about 20 minutes drive away!

About a mile from us are good pubs in the village, along with a few shops: Milford Haven and the County Town of Pembrokeshire, Haverfordwest, are about 3 miles away with a good range of shops and places to eat.

A designated Brunel Cycle Path to Neyland Marina; you can have refreshments there; or to Haverfordwest passes our door. You can cycle or walk off road through the West Pill Nature Reserve which runs along a tributary of the R. Cleddau. The spring flowers there, like bluebells are a delight to see in April; is much of Pembrokeshire and its magical coastline in spring and early summer.

The departure point for Skomer Island to see the puffins and other marine wildlife is not far away. There are plenty of Island boat trips, such as Ramsey, Skokholm, Caldey and Grassholm Gannetry Trip.

There are many beaches and coastal paths to explore all year, along with historic towns, castles and other visitor attractions.

Directions

From the M4 take the A40 signed to Haverforwest. As you approach Haverfordwest take the A4076 signed to Milford Haven which takes you left past the County Council Buildings along Freemans Way.

When you approach a large round about at Merlin's Bridge, you will see a Mcdonalds there, take the 2nd exit to the left signed 2.5 miles to Johnston.

Follow the A4076  into Johnston, our village, and take the left turn into Church Rd. opposite Howlin Motors, which is on right. You will see the small St Peter's Church on left and GP surgery on the corner. Rosehill is about a mile down that lane.

Continue along Church Rd, past the Fairfields Nursing Home on your left. The road goes around to the right and go past Woodlands Drive. Take the sharp turn to your left signed for Rosemarket, ( a village), and go over the hump back bridge over a railway and past a small house there.

Rosehill is off a short drive which is the next driveway on your right about a minutes drive from the bridge. You will see the corner of a small cream barn and black gates set back. Go past the farm buildings and park outside the house in our drive.

Johnston railway station is about 1.5 miles from us. Haverfordwest Railway station is about 5 miles from us.

At the Honeyborough roundabout at Neyland on A477 is a dropping on and off point for coaches; and it is about 1.5 miles from us.
