Clynfyw Farm Cottages

About Clynfyw Farm Cottages

Double Winners at the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards 2013, we have been awarded Gold Standard by Green Tourism since we signed up in 2011.

Based on our organic family farm, we have two holiday cottages which sleep 4 and 6 people. Graded by Visit Wales, the well equipped cottages make a great base to explore west Wales coast and countryside including the Teifi Valley and Preseli Mountains.

We also run a care farm at Clynfyw, supporting vulnerable people through numerous microenterprises including rescue chickens, community apple juicing, horticulture, community gardening service, cookery club and the Wheelie Good Idea in which we refurbish donated wheelchairs and mobility aids for rehousing in Africa.

We hold a social night here every Tuesday and on the second Friday of each month we host a coffee morning for different charities from Surfers against Sewage to the British Institute of Human Rights.

We have miles of woodland trails and walks and a sculpture trail with a roundhouse built with volunteers by the legendary roundhouse expert Tony Wrench.

Visitors are welcome to get involved in our projects and activities.

Accessibility

Accessibility The design of the cottages holds access a major consideration with advice from The Holiday Care Services, John Grooms Holidays, The Disabled Holiday Directory and Pembrokeshire's Access Officer. Three of our cottages are on a single level with flat access from the outside, one up a wooden ramp 1500mm wide and 1:14 gradient. Roads are tarmac and the ample parking is very flat and immediately outside the cottages. Inside the cottage doors are over 1200mm wide, light switches and power points are between 900&1200mm from the floor. They are well lit, have good colour contrast but do not yet have hearing loop fitted. Kitchens offer knee room beneath cookers and sinks and cupboards and work surfaces are at 800mm height. There are fitted carpets and non-slip linoleum or tiles in the bathroom and kitchen areas. Door handles are easy to grip, there are vertical and horizontal rails around the baths, loos and showers and there is a seat securely attached to the wall in each of the showers. We have a commode style wheeled shower chair and each cottage has a choice of loos with left or right side transfer. Bedrooms are spacious, offer left or right transfer and have space beneath them should a mobile hoist be needed. Many of our staff have been on the WTB's Welcome Host "Service for All" scheme and we are keen to be as supportive as visitors would like us, and need us, to be. Most of the farm tracks are very bumpy, but we do have three flat low gradient paths totally 800mm, with plans to improve others as funds allow. Please do contact us if you have any queries or specific requirements.
