Ynglŷn â Hammet @ Castell Malgwyn
Hammet @ Castell Malgwyn is an independently-owned country hotel, nestled within the rural village of Llechryd, North Pembrokeshire. The 18th Century, listed building is located over the bridge next to the scenic river Teifi. 7 acres of grounds surround the house and a choice of circular walks, coastal paths and dog-friendly beaches are within a short driving distance.
A solo exhibition, by Royal Academician Linda Sutton, and traditional Georgian features can be found inside. On the ground floor, you will find the relaxed Library Bar (with an open log fire in Winter months) and opposite, the Art Room restaurant open to non-residents. Afternoon tea is served between 12 noon & 5pm. Choose from Full Afternoon Tea or Champagne Afternoon Tea – 24 hour booking in advance is essential.
In 2020, the Art Room restaurant was awarded three AA Rosettes and is led by Head Chef, Cornel Uys, and his small kitchen crew.
Guest bedrooms are a blend of the old & new, featuring flat screen tvs, & drinks tray with a selection of teas, freshly ground coffee & hand-baked goods. Toiletries & fluffy towels can be found in the en-suite bathrooms of each of our rooms. In 2020, four stars were given to the accommodation by the AA inspector. 15 bedrooms are at the top of our grand staircase, each with their own unique characteristics.
Chris and Nicky Mason- Watts took over the hotel in April 2017 and one of the first things they decided to do was turn the hotel into a dog-friendly one. This was an easy choice to make, taken from their own experiences of travelling with their Pulik, Mrs. Ruskin and Bartleby. Dog Packages are arranged for £20 per stay for the first dog, and an additional £10 for each dog after; this includes pawsecco, treats, a soft bed, water bowl and the extra housekeeping time.
