What’s On in December

As we roll into Christmas Pembrokeshire will be hosting lots of Christmas Markets and a feast of a pantomime.

There’s a Christmas Pudding Dash in Broad Haven, a ‘Man Up’ Mud race in St Davids and the Three Amigos Bike Run in Pembroke.

And once Christmas Day is over you can wash it all down with a Boxing Day swim in Tenby! Magic.

Friday 4th, 11th and 18th December

Haverfordwest Farmers Market

Christmas Farmers Markets on the Riverside Shopping, Haverfordwest - place orders and stock up on all the amazing fresh, local and seasonal produce for all your festive gatherings, along with delicious gift ideas to help put a smile on peoples faces.

Friday 4th – Sunday 6th December

St Nicholas Market, Saunderfoot

The turning on of the Christmas lights in Saundersfoot is a firm favourite with families, and with celebrity chefs to inspire your Christmas treating, live music and even a choir, this is a market not to be missed.

Saturday 5thDecember

Making Christmas

Join local artist Sara Lloyd-Morris for a day’s jewellery making, where you will make your own ring, pendant or earrings. No previous experience is necessary. With groups of 10-4 people being catered for this is a really fun way to make a one-off gift for your loved one (or yourself!).

Christmas Market

With so many fantastic artisans in and around St. Davids, Oriel y Parc market is not to be missed. Drop into the café for mulled wine and mince pies whilst the little ones visit Santa with their Christmas lists.

A Tudor Christmas

The Tudor Merchants House in Tenby is open every Saturday and Sunday in December. Pop along to find out about the 12 Days of Christmas and see how the merchant and his family would have celebrated Christmas. From 11am - 2:30pm.

Christmas Concert

This year Picton Castle is hosting the Whitland Male Voice choir singing a delightful variety of music and inviting the audience to join them in some well loved Christmas carols. With a female guest soloist, we are told that you can expect one or two more surprises in this concert! Book your ticket in advance – this event sold out last year.

Sunday 6th December

Christmas Market

Carew Castle is a spectacular setting for any event. Soak up the festive atmosphere and warm yourself beside the fire in the Lesser Hall as you browse local crafts and Christmas treats. Visit Santa in his magical grotto tucked away within the Castle walls. From 11am - 3pm.

Tuesday 8th December

Christmas Songs

Head along to the annual carol service at Stackpole Outdoor Learning Centre for a morning of festive sing-song. Warm up with a hot drink and a mince pie or two. Starts 10am.

Thursday 10th December

Comedy Club

Headlining this month is Cardiff-based Elis James. He can make you laugh in English or Welsh and won the 'Best Comedy' prize at the National Student Radio Awards in 2006. Second act of the evening is Andrew Watts, a comedian Time Out described as ‘Posh and witty... exquisitely funny ... one of the new comics making waves.’ December’s MC is Chris Purchase. Friday 11th December

Music: Mydy Rabycad

The Span Arts Xmas Bonanza is back again at the Queens Hall. Emerging from the European music scene, Mydy Rabycad is one of the young and brilliant talents of the new electro-swing generation. With original panache, style-swinging hits and comparisons to the likes of Caravan Palace, this is going to be a Christmas party like no other! Tickets available from Span Arts

Saturday 12th - Sunday 13th December

A Victorian Christmas

Scolton Manor are holding their Victorian Christmas. See the manor house decorated for a Christmas past and listen to tales from long ago with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. Scolton Manor will be open from 11am to 4.30pm each day.

Saturday 12th December

Man Up! Mud Run

Its back. Time to tough up and embrace the winter with the annual ‘Man up! Mud Run’. This 10k mud and obstacle race is based at Pwllcaerog Farm, in the spectacular Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The course runs for 6-miles over unforgiving land, with muddy puddles and slippery obstacles to keep your entertained. Fun to take part in, even better to watch! Race starts at 10am.

Man up! Mud Run! is not for your best trainers or a gleaming white t-shirt! Last year Visit Pembrokeshire went along to see how muddy is muddy. Take a look at 2014's Man Up

Southwood Farm Christmas Fair - POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER

Crafts, gifts and food - find finishing touches and last minute treats around this charming National Trust Victorian farm range between Newgale and Roch.

Newport Christmas Fair

Take the whole family shopping at the Newport Christmas Fair in the Newport Memorial Hall. Kids are always well entertained and there will be beautiful local crafts and farmers market. Starts at 10am – 4pm.

3 Amigos Christmas Toy Run

If you love motorbikes head down to Pembroke Commons between 12noon - 1pm and meet the 3 Amigos on their annual Christmas Toy Run. Every year hundreds of bikers visit Pembroke, collecting toys and donations to take to Withybush Hospital Children's ward. Bring a toy or just come along to meet the bikers and show your support.

Sunday 13th December

Broad Haven Christmas Pudding Run

Get this 10k Xmas Pudding Run under your belt before Christmas. Join a hardy bunch of enthusiastic runners on this 10km road run from the beautiful village of Broad Haven. All entrants will receive a Christmas pudding on finishing the run. Race starts at 12noon. Fancy dress is optional. 

Tenby Santa Fun Run

If dressing up as Santa is more your style head to Tenby for the 3km Santa Dash! Starts at 12noon outside St Mary’s Church.

Saturday 19th December

Pantomime – Jack & The Beanstalk

Five days left for the Panto season at the Torch Theatre. This production of ‘Jack & The Beanstalk’ is bold, bright and the ‘best panto in Britain’ as described by the Western Mail - complete with outrageous costumes and packed with music, magic and laughter. There is also a return to the stage for our favourite Dame of them all - the indomitable Dion Davies. Tickets available from Torch Theatre 

In the evening Rhosygilwen are hosting their annual Christmas concert with tenor Robyn Lyn and the Islwyn Evans’ Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion Choir.

While the Queens Hall's are putting on a Festive Party evening with Tuxedo Funktion, supporting acts Brodie Morgans, and Hana Murray. A festive evening of dancing and fun, with good food. Tickets and tables bookable in available from Span Arts

Sunday 20th –  Thursday 31st December

Wednesday 23rd December

You’ll be spoilt for choice with last minute Christmas shopping at the Haverfordwest Farmers Market with offers such as home-reared turkeys, Welsh Black Beef, fish and shellfish platters, real ale, homemade fir and holly wreaths, stollen, yule logs, Christmas cakes and puddings. Everything you could need for your Christmas Day feast.

Thursday 24th December - Christmas Eve

One of the loveliest ways to start the holiday is to sing into Christmas with Midnight Mass at St Davids Cathedral. The service starts at 11.00pm, with the First Eucharist of Christmas, Procession & Blessing of Crib.

Saturday 26th December

Tenby Boxing Day Swim

Keep the Christmas cheer rolling and get yourself down to the annual Tenby Boxing Day swim. You’ll be in the company of about 600 fancy dress dippers, all raising money for their chosen charity. Or join the thousands of onlookers cheering them on. Swim starts at 11:30am on Tenby’s North beach.

Monday 28th December

Pay What You Can - Children’s Theatre

Christmas continues with Span Arts this December with their ‘Pay What You Can’ Children’s theatre with Circo Rum Ba Ba. You simply book your tickets, enjoy the show, and Pay What You Can towards the production. Starts 2pm. Tickets available from Span Arts
