The Pembrokeshire Fish Week Festival began seventeen years ago as a small event focused around a national Sewin Competition on three West Wales Rivers. Since then, the festival has grown significantly and now attracts over 31,000 attendees to the County.
From Saturday 25th June until the 3rd July, Pembrokeshire Fish week has over 250 events and activities, put on by businesses and organizations across Pembrokeshire, throughout the nine day festival offering something for all tastes and ages!
To get the week off to a great start Milford Haven Port are organising the Milford Fish Festival on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th.
The festival was a great success last year with over 6,000 visitors enjoying live music across 3 stages. This year acts include Samba Doc, The Cover up, Lucy Jones, local band The Review and Rick Berry & the Retrospex. UK Restaurant Chef of the Year, Will Holland from Coast together with chefs, Jono Voyce, Great British Bake Off semi finalist Chetna Mekan, Ellen Picton, Zachary Dunlap and Lisa Fearn will cook up a storm in the cookery demonstration area. Children can have fun too at their own cookery school.
There will be stalls, arts and crafts, fresh food, on water activities, entertainment and lots, lots more. The fun begins at 10am.
On Tuesday 29th June, Pembrokeshire Fish Week are holding their Fish, Fillet and Fun evening at the Pavillion at Withybush Showground.
Join them for an intimate yet lively evening of filleting, food and fishy tales from chef/owner of the Best Seafood Establishment in Wales, Simon Vickers from The Griffin Inn at Dale, and fishmonger extraordinaire Nick Bryant, plus wines to suit all dishes from Roy Roberts, Celtic Wines.
Using a mystery box of fish, Nick will talk you through the various ways to prepare and fillet your fish, as well as providing you with information on the various species and how to get your money's worth. Once the fish is prepared, Simon will take over with hints and tips on how they have moved on from being a small village pub to becoming crowned the Best Seafood Establishment in Wales in the recent Food Award Wales.
