It's back!

After a 3 year break Red Bull is back.

The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series is making a very welcomed return to the UK and it's heading straight back to the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy, Pembrokeshire.

Red BUll Cliff Diving

The divers last took to the platform in 2012 and 2013 with this years high flying action planned for 11th September 2016.

The great news for 2016 is that Red Bull Cliffing Diving will also feature for the first time in the UK the ladies World Series. Rachelle Simpson from the US will battle it out with fellow American Ginger Huber for the ladies crown.

22 divers, 14 men and 8 ladies, from across the world will take the plunge from a 27m and 20m platform high above the old slate quarry at Abereiddy. Launching themselves from the equivalent of an 8 story building the divers will accelerate to speeds of up to 90kph while somersaulting and twisting their way down to the lagoon.

From the photos you can see its not for the faint hearted.

The stop in Pembrokeshire is the sixth of eight stops in the 2016 World Series as the sport's most talented athletes compete across three different continents, Europe, Asia and South America, to see who will be crowned this year's cliff diving king and queen.

If your lucky enough to get tickets for the event, why not make a weekend of it and search for accommodation close by or you could even spend 48 hours in St Davids, its only 5 miles away.
