In the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, just 2.3 miles from Newport, The Workshop is a detached, newly converted barn at Glasfryn Cottages. From the adjacent field you can enjoy breathtaking views of Carningli (Mountain of Angels) and the surrounding countryside.
Set in 4 acres of grounds just 2.6 miles from the sea, with a standing stone and a bluebell meadow, Glasfryn Cottages are the perfect place to relax and unwind. With space, tranquillity and unspoilt countryside, it’s a paradise for cosy couples, walkers, dogs and wildlife enthusiasts, especially bird watchers.
The Workshop is beautifully furnished with an eclectic mix of modern and antique pieces, accented with traditional Welsh tapestry and Persian and Afghan rugs. The cosy traditional-style kitchen with its Irish dresser and flagstone floors is the perfect place to cook up scrumptious meals to enjoy in the open plan living dining area.
The under-floor heating will warm the flag-stones in the cooler weather and when the sun is out the bi-fold patio doors can be opened to a south-facing private outdoor area for eating alfresco. The bedroom, in a galleried roof area, is a delight, cosy with warm Welsh blankets.
This is an area steeped in history and rich in legends. Explore the magical Ty Canol Woods, the verdant Cwm Gwaun (Gwaun Valley), and the wild moorland slopes of the Preseli Hills. Discover ancient trails, Iron Age forts, Neolithic burial sites - and places to stand and stare at the glorious views. Popular activities include walking, cycling, horseriding or just relaxing on the beach at Newport Sands. You can walk up the lane to the Bluestone micro-brewery for some fresh ale or visit the candle workshop also close by.
