Thank you so much.

Please note that there is a strict no-smoking policy throughout the property.

Safety:

Emergency fire exits are either straight down the main stairs and out through the front door, or through the rear bedroom window adjacent to the bathroom. The window has a key ‘Jack Lock’ window restrictor and the key is high up on a hook above the window in the corner. This is a fire escape window, so please make sure the key stays there, or if you feel that you need to move it during your stay, then please ensure that you place it back on the hook before you leave.  A fire extinguisher is situated in the kitchen on a bracket underneath the combi boiler just above the worktop. A fire blanket is on the wall in the kitchen between the window and combi boiler. A First Aid kit is in the cupboard under the sink. If you have young children, then a pressure fit safety gate is provided for you to fit at the top of the stairs between the top stair post and the wall, or wherever you prefer. This is kept in the cupboard adjacent to the lounge/dining room. The master bedroom adjacent to the lounge/dining room has a ‘Jack Lock’ safety window restrictor as in the rear ‘children’s bedroom’, but the key is kept in the lock for your convenience to enable the window to be opened wide during hot weather, so please be aware of this if children are left unattended in this room. If you feel that you need to remove the key during your stay, then please ensure that you keep it in a safe place and place it back in the lock before you leave. Thank you. Please be aware that the window sill in this room is low so do not encourage anyone to sit on it.

Heating:

The central heating system is set by us for your comfort based on the time of the year of your stay and in relation to the local weather forecast. Please contact us if you would like it changed and we would be happy to do so, but we respectfully ask that you do not try to alter the boiler settings yourself. The combination boiler means that hot water is readily available anytime.

Instructions for the electric fire in the lounge/dining room, if required are included in this booklet. You may also enjoy to just use the cosy flame effect even if not using the heat. It creates a lovely ambience for you to enjoy.

WIFI:

The wifi code is supplied on receipt of a confirmed booking

Smart TV/DVD Combi:

The TV is operated by the remote control which you will find on the shelf to the right of the TV. The controls are self-explanatory via the remote but if you require any assistance in operating it, then please do not hesitate to contact us. The Smart functions are accessed by going to Menu, then scrolling key the arrow down to ‘Internet’ for SMART TV Services. A ‘flying’ HDMI lead is on the shelf adjacent to the TV for you to plug in any games controllers that you may have with you. The DVD player is again operated using the handheld TV remote control.

Refuse Collection & Waste:

Food waste is collected weekly on a Monday morning, so please just place your food waste green bin outside the property against the wall on the pavement, though with it being a Monday, the chances are that there will be very little, so please judge yourself. Black bin every-day waste is collected on fortnightly Mondays. If you are unclear, please ask us and we will  gladly take your waste for you whenever it needs clearing. Can we please ask that you use the silver bin in the kitchen beside/underneath the breakfast bar for all waste & the small bin on the window sill for food waste. When the small food waste bin is full, the bag can be tied and placed in the larger green food waste bin ready for the bin men on Monday. This is located downstairs in the hallway recess. If you are here for a longer period or you have lots of waste and nowhere to store it, then please call Steve on 07774-111898 and he will dispose of it for you. Thank you so much for this. (It’s the way of the world nowadays).

Parking:

You can park right outside the front door, but can we please ask that you park straight and as tight to the wall that borders ‘The Cottage’ as possible, to enable Linda to access the drive to park her car. We appreciate that if you drive straight in, it’s difficult to reverse back out onto the pavement/main road to get out, so here are 2 helpful suggestions for you. You could wait until the evening when the road is very quiet and reverse out, then back in so you are facing the right way to exit in the day time, or you can also park next door in ‘The Cottage’ area. There is a space adjacent to the parking space for ‘The Cottage’ which is also allocated for you, or our personal guests if you find this easier? The choice is yours. If you are not quite sure, please do not hesitate to give us a knock next door in ‘Laubobange’ to ask or give us a call on 07774-111898. Linda can park her car anywhere. It’s important to us that you are happy.

Cleaning:

We hope that you will find the apartment at an acceptable standard of cleanliness. If you find anything unreasonable, then again, please do not hesitate to bring it to our attention and we will deal with it at our earliest convenience. Washing up liquid and various cleaning liquids are provided for your use underneath the sink along with tablets for the washing machine. We appreciate that you are on your holiday, but a vacuum cleaner and mop and bucket, brush, hand brush and dustpan are provided if you have any mishaps or whatever during your stay. These are situated in the cupboard adjacent to the lounge/dining room.

We would appreciate dirty shoes being left on the shoe rack downstairs in the entrance hall. Thank you.

Washing Machine & Drying:

A washing machine is provided for your use underneath the worktop in the kitchen. A couple of courtesy washing tablets are provided for your convenience and you will find these underneath the kitchen sink. Instructions for use can be found in this booklet. The iron & ironing board are kept in the cupboard adjacent to the lounge/diner whilst a clothes airer is in the downstairs hallway.

Electric Fan Oven & Gas Hob:

To operate the gas hob, press & hold the knob that relates to the ring you require, turn to the left whilst still holding down until the ring lights, then release your hand and turn the knob to the required heat level. To operate the electric fan oven, the left-hand knob controls the heat setting for both the grill & the oven. The right-hand knob has 4 settings. The bottom left setting turns on the fan oven. The top left setting is the oven and grill together with fan. The top right setting turns on the ‘warming’ oven light and the bottom right setting turns on the grill. Turning the knob to ‘zero’, or ’12 o’clock’ turns the oven off completely, so please ensure that you return the oven to this setting when you have finished using it. Instructions for use can be found in this booklet, likewise instructions for the Microwave Oven.

Hairdryer:

This is in the bottom basket drawer of the wardrobe in the master bedroom.

When You Finish Your Holiday:

Just a reminder that check out time is 11am to enable us to turn the apartment round in readiness for our next guests. Please ensure that all windows and doors are locked, and all appliances are turned off (except WIFI extender). Please also ensure that you leave the TV remote control on the shelf next to the TV where you found it and return any books or DVD’s that you may have enjoyed during your stay back on the shelf for others to also enjoy. Please leave the key in the outside key safe from where you first accessed the key, ‘dial’ the key code to unlock the safe, then can you please scramble the numbers on your departure. Have a safe journey home and we look forward to seeing you again. You can also book direct with us on 07774-111898 for a special ‘repeat deal’ & for offers throughout the year.. Email: stevebriers@aol.com

Personal recommendations Booklet:

If anything is missing or if you feel that something else should be there, or if you have any constructive comments that would improve our guest experience, then please just leave a comment in our ‘Personal recommendations’ booklet which is downstairs in the hallway on top of the unit for us to address. However, although we are busy, we are always approachable and are on-hand to listen to your feedback or indeed to offer any advice or recommendations to ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable holiday.
