5 of the best food festivals in Pembrokeshire

Take wonderfully scrumptious local produce, combine it with the talented artisans of Pembrokeshire and you get some of the most incredible food and drink.

Mix them all together in one venue and you get amazing vibrant food festivals. Here's five of the best.....

Taking place in the heart of Pembrokeshire, Haverfoodfest, is a not-for-profit community event run entirely by volunteers in Haverfordwest. The event attracts more than 4000 visitors who come to tingle their taste buds at the 50 plus producer stalls, street food sellers and bars. In addition there are cookery demonstrations, live music and plenty to entertain children in their dedicated marquee. Haverfoodfest takes place in early May.

The Pembrokeshire Street Food Festival is a collaboration of local, regional, and national street food caterers who gather in Tenby. There is everything from Cajun cuisine to gourmet mac and cheese, to authentic Caribbean delights and wood fired artisan pizza. There are plenty of drinks to choose from, including local ales and ice-cold beers. You can also grab a delicious cocktail or a fresh and fruity mocktail. Pembrokeshire Street Food Festival takes place in June.

Pembrokeshire Fish Week Festival is a family-friendly festival celebrating the fishing industry and maritime heritage together with the spectacular coastline of Pembrokeshire. Coastal restaurants and pubs serve mouth-watering menus all week and foodies can enjoy cookery demos, filleting workshops and speciality fish cookery classes, as well as seaside foraging events. For families events include beach fun days, crab-catching, and river bug-hunting. Pembrokeshire Fish Week Festival takes place in late June & early July.

Cardigan River and Food Festival celebrates the River Teifi, that flows through the heart of the town, and the quality and diversity of superb independent food producers that abound in the local area and across Wales. Now in its 19th year the festival's diverse range includes ice cream, Pembrokeshire sea salt products, charcuterie, Spanish paella, Nigerian cuisine. Plenty to tickle your tastebuds. Cardigan River & Food Festival takes place in August.

Narberth Food Festival relishes its reputation as ‘the friendliest food festival in Wales’. The event prides itself on the warm welcome it offers to everyone, whether foodies, families or fun-lovers. Chef demonstrations and masterclasses, kids’ activities, a live music stage, street theatre, a licensed bar and plenty of food, glorious food from primarily Welsh producers all add to the mix. Narberth Food Festival takes place at the end of September.
