This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.
Introduction
We are situated at the bottom of Castle Slipway on the left hand side as you approach the sea, the slip is reasonably steep and owing to its location which is half on, half off the beach, can be slippery when wet.
There are a number of steps and a concrete ramp to gain entry to the climbing wall and the door is 90cm wide, making it accessible to wheelchair users.
There will be a number of leaflets available and we have friendly staff who will strive to help whenever possible.
We have a floor space of 78sqm
We have 14 roped lines which are suitable for children and adults, and 6 lead lines. We also boast a dedicated bouldering area, and shop selling climbing equipment and light refreshments.
Travel
The nearest bus stop is at Tenby south parade terminus, which is 3-4 minutes’ walk.
The town benefits from a railway station which takes around a 10 minute walk or 3 -4 minute’s taxi ride.
The nearest car parking is at St Florence parade and it takes about 3-4 minutes to walk.
Toilets
There are toilets and shower facilities in the public toilets halfway up the slip on the left as you go up the hill. These are provided by the council, and conform to public use i.e. single sex use, and also they have disabled facilities.
Training
All our staff will receive regular training including understanding the needs of disabled customers; they will also be subject to a full disclosure as they will be dealing with children and disabled customers. Trained Guide dogs are always welcome and we will put out fresh water upon request (the building is on the beach and we wouldn't want to drink sandy water).
